Mapping the aetiology of non-malarial febrile illness in Africa and SE Asia
A visual analysis of published health literature for causes of non-malaria febrile disease.
Data are shown from studies published in peer-reviewed journals of bacterial infection of blood or csf in patients from Africa presenting with an infectious illness considered to be 'undifferentiated'. This is defined as patients whose diagnosis remained uncertain at the time of laboratory testing and includes but not limited to patients with suspected meningitis or pneumonia. Details on laboratory methods or clinical details must be obtained from the specific studies.
